The formation of the Community Food Bank was a loud response of the society itself and businesses to our fellow citizens who had been hit most by the economic crisis. Dozens of companies and local stores rushed to offer their items on a non-profit basis in a well-coordinated effort /response to the crisis.

The function of the of the Community Food Bank is part of the network of initiatives and actions of the Municipality of Aglantzia “We are Aglantzia”, in collaboration with the Parishes of Saint George in Aglantzia and Apostle Andrew in Platy Aglantzia.

For this purpose “love baskets” have been placed at the local supermarkets Metro Foods Trading Ltd, Metro Foods Ltd, Lidl Cyprus and Carrefour Market Aglantzia.

The applications to receive aid are submitted to the churches of each parish.
